The company where Alan interviewed in Iowa has made an offer: a salary and bonus structure that would keep us comfortable and an extremely generous relocation package.
PROS for accepting the job: good money, nice area (Midwest), scenic in places, within a decent driving distance to my family, comparable to lower cost of living,good career move for OP
CONS for accepting the job: me leaving a job I love, leaving warm year round weather, leaving his family, leaving very dear friends.
I feel so torn about leaving here--it puts knots in my stomach!
What do we do?????

Oh honey, I kind of had a feeling something like this would happen. Okay, a few posts back you were pretty emphatic about not living in Iowa. You said you might consider it if the offer was just too good to pass up, but you still wouldn't actually like living there, right? So, is this offer one that you simply cannot pass up or just merely "comfortable"? And would merely comfortable really be worth going against your gut reaction of not wanting to live there? This is huge, major, a life changing decision that must not be taken lightly. Listen to your heart sweetie, be completely honest with Alan, and do what truly makes you both happy. If you do that, then whatever you decide is guaranteed to be the right thing. Good luck and keep us posted!!
